Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
At our clinic in Fredericton, our dentists are able to use dental technology to better diagnose a variety of oral health conditions.
Devices such as X-ray machines and scanners allow our dentists to take a closer look at what is going on inside your mouth, and can provide insight into what could be forming below the gum line and in your jawbone.
Most oral health conditions are easier to treat the sooner they are caught. Using our available technology, our dentists can catch these concerns early on and create a plan to treat them before they develop into larger issues.
Our goal is to provide you with the best care possible. Dental technology helps us do that.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors to produce highly detailed images of your teeth, gums and other oral structures. This way, your dentist can examine parts of your mouth that may be difficult to see with the naked eye. Because they use digital sensors, these X-rays produce less radiation than traditional radiographs.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays create one single flat image of your entire mouth at once. This image includes your teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic X-rays are often used when planning for dentures, extractions and dental implants.
Oral Cancer Screening
During an oral cancer screening, your dentist will use a handheld tool to scan the inside of your mouth using fluorescence visualization technology. This device looks for cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions that may be difficult to see otherwise.
CEREC® Same-Day Restorations
CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a system that allows for the fabrication and placement of ceramic dental crowns, inlays, and onlays in a single appointment. There is no need for temporary restorations or multiple trips to our office.
Intraoral Scanners
An intraoral scanner is an optical scanning wand used to digitally recreate the hard and soft structures of your mouth. This allows your dentist to create digital dental impressions rather than using traditional putty. Intraoral scans be completed within minutes, making it a quick option.
Cone Beam Cat Scan
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a special type of X-ray machine that generates 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone in the craniofacial region in one single scan. These images allow for precise treatment planning, including allowing our dentists to analyze your airway.
