When you visit Brookside Dental for anything ranging from a simple restoration to wisdom tooth extractions, their goal is to make you feel comfortable every step of the way. Thankfully, sedation dentistry makes this possible!

Dr. Blacquier, Dr. Cormier, Dr. Langille, Dr. Rusanov and Dr. Morales have received certification to provide different levels of in office sedation, including the following options:

Nitrous oxide

It is as simple as wearing a nose mask during treatment. The patient is free to drive to and from their appointment. This type of sedation is commonly used with children.

Oral sedation

This is a medication that is taken in office, approximately one hour before your appointment. The patient needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult both before and after the appointment. You'll be awake, but may have little to no recollection of your appointment at the end. In fact, you'll often find yourself less apprehensive when it comes time for your next appointment.

Combination of oral sedation and nitrous oxide

This is a combination of the types of sedation mentioned above. This produces a deeper level of sedation for more severe anxiety or longer appointments.

All types of sedation require no eating or drinking for at least 2 hours prior to your appointment.

For fearful or anxious patients, sedation dentistry is a great way to help you maintain great dental health!
